Do people who work for you feel appreciated?
In the workplace, each of us at some level wants to know: does what we are doing matter? According to Bureau of Labor Statistics studies, the average employed American spends more time working than sleeping, and day in and day out, they suit up to serve their organizations. However, not feeling appreciated, is often both a reality and deal-breaker for them, according to recent reports:
• Employees favor recognition from managers and supervisors by a margin of 2:1 over recognition from co-workers.*
• Nearly nine out of 10 (88%) of Americans who leave their jobs say they do so because they don’t feel appreciated, valued or trusted.**
• Almost 70% of workers in the U.S. say they receive no praise or recognition in the workplace.**
